Play Bill of the International Academy of Music Elena Obraztsova
The International Academy of Music of Elena Obraztsova is located in a four-story building located on the Nevskaya line of the inner ring of the Big Gostiny Dvor. Construction of the inner ring began in 1776 and lasted more than three decades. In the early 1790s, these buildings were used for the needs of trade shops of copper and tin products. The inner ring was made up of similar two- or three-storey storerooms, located between stone transverse walls, with through arched galleries on the first floor along both facades.
In their original form, they survived until the middle of the nineteenth century, when third or fourth floors were built over some buildings. Each section of the building stores traces of different historical layers of architectural and functional changes.
The facade of the International Academy of Music Helena Obraztsova is not accidentally painted in two colors: green and yellow. This color scheme symbolizes the course of the history of St. Petersburg, as the color of the building reflects the changing architectural fashion. The green color is reminiscent of the XVIII century (by order of Empress Catherine II, the stone buildings of the northern capital should have bright, pleasing colors to adorn the gloomy and gloomy color of the city), and yellow - about the XIX century.
Thanks to the revival of the historical appearance of the building, students of the Academy will receive a unique opportunity to become involved in the living history of the city and country.
In the hall there is a free seating, all tickets are entrance (without numbering of seats).
