The wonderful melodies of your favorite operettas are the best formula for a good mood. The first sounds of familiar melodies can dispel any sorrow and create a warm, truly pre-New Year's atmosphere! After all, how can you be sad when all around you is joy, celebration, the sensual rapture of love, and a fireworks display of emotions? Operetta is rightfully considered the queen of musical genres. The range of characters' emotions in it is enormous—from admiration to hatred, from grief to rapture. An operetta is unthinkable without cheerful dialogue, sparkling humor, the rustling of luxurious costumes, colorful mise-en-scènes, and constant movement. And it's always a celebration, always a happy ending! The Petersburg Concert artists are confident that the program, consisting of arias, duets, and scenes from operettas by Imre Kalman, Franz Lehar, and Johann Strauss, will be an excellent start to the pre-New Year week.
