Mozart. The Marriage of Figaro. A Crazy Day in the Almaviva Castle

The audience will be imbued with the spirit of the 18th century, will plunge into the atmosphere of bedroom secrets and romantic adventures, will become witnesses and accomplices of a fascinating adventure.

The opera "The Marriage of Figaro" - loved by both musicians and audiences for more than 200 years - is presented in an unusual interior format. The setting of the Mirror Drawing Room of the Kochneva House - a merchant's mansion built in 1809 - serves as a natural backdrop for the famous story.

The duration of "The Marriage of Figaro" without cuts is more than four hours. The creators of the new version of the play took into account the modern pace of life, the size of our city and possible problems with transport late in the evening, so our "Wedding" lasts only two and a half hours, while neither the plot nor the musical narrative suffered, and the production pleases with its logic and integrity. And to make it even easier for the audience to perceive Beaumarchais's intricate plot, the director introduced a host (Alexander Koigerov) into the play, who easily and humorously comments on the characters' actions.

The plot develops in the Spanish castle of Count Almaviva. The central event of the plot is the upcoming marriage of the main characters, Figaro and Susanna. Both serve the Count and Countess in the castle. According to ancient feudal custom, the lord had the right to the "first wedding night". Almaviva abolished this rule after his marriage. But for how long?

Traditional for opera buffa dressing women in men's clothes and vice versa, confusion, incidents, stupid situations of characters and, of course, a happy ending - the audience will see all this in our performance.

Musical numbers are performed in Italian, recitatives and the host's speech are in Russian.
