"Petersburg-concert" continues a series of evenings dedicated to one of the most amazing phenomena of world culture - the classical romance: a novel in miniature, a characteristic romance, a psychological romance. Sentimentality and romanticism, tenderness and lyricism - these are the invariable components of this musical genre. A child of Russian poetry and music, the romance has become not just a unique cultural phenomenon, but also a universal expression of national self-awareness.
The program includes romances and duets by Glinka, Dargomyzhsky, Borodin, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. Soloists of the Mariinsky Theater — Ekaterina Shimanovich (soprano) and Maxim Bulatov (baritone) Piano part — Alexander Rubinov The concert is hosted by musicologist Ekaterina Sergeeva Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes, no intermission.
