Nervous people. We come across them everywhere: in transport, shops, theaters and cinema, at work and even at home. Especially in communal apartments. It would seem that the faces are by no means attractive. Can they be at least something interesting to someone? Of course, they can, if Mikhail Zoshchenko told about them and was able not only to see, but also to masterfully show the director Boris Voitsekhovsky.

There is a lot of open, “unkempt” and frank in the performance - everything is naked here: impulses of feelings, breaks of characters, aspirations. Great sympathy for the audience is evoked by the artist Kuzkin, who became a homeless "through the fault of the Soviet regime" and got into an absurd situation in the theater, and the cleaning lady Natalya, who dreams of becoming a ballerina and awaiting a marriage blessing, and the barmaid naively longing for great love. Zoshchenko loves these people and longs if they live a petty life, oppressing each other with misunderstanding, wasting their strength. On the other hand, with great joy he sees and highly appreciates their desire to gain their own dignity. Even if this desire is often inept and may even be funny.

Boris Voitsekhovsky, through his actors, skillfully shares with the audience a recipe for humor from the master of laughter Mikhail Zoshchenko, whose stories exist like a true "encyclopedia of philistine", a guide to diseases of the senses: envy, cowardice, fear, selfishness, greed. But how it all looks from the stage! Two acts of continuous laughter. “Nervous People” is a performance that can make even those who have long forgotten how to smile laugh.
