Viewers will see not only miniatures, familiar from the program “Out of Time. Choreographic masterpieces by Leonid Yakobson”, but also the premiere of the newly restored ballets - “Brilliant Divertimento”, “Swan”, “Medieval Kissing Dance” and “Kachucha”.

“Our troupe bears the name of one of the outstanding choreographers of all time, and it is not only our duty, but also an honorable mission to preserve his ballets. We are carefully and gradually restoring his compositions,” says Andrian Fadeev, Honored Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Leonid Yakobson Ballet Theatre. – Author's productions of Yakobson can be seen only in the repertoire of our theater, and we are happy to show this St. Petersburg treasure on various stages of the world.”

"Brilliant divertissement" to the music of Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka has no direct plot. The performance takes place at the ball of the times of Louis XIV, where the majordomo runs everything: he ceremoniously introduces each artist to the audience ...

"The Swan" to the music of the famous play by Camille Saint-Saens is Yakobson's homage to his inspiration Mikhail Fokin. The miniature is considered one of the most controversial in the heritage of the Leningrad genius: it is not a fragile bird resigned to its death, but a fighter swan, black, not white, rebellious, desperately resisting death. The choreographer's contemporaries saw his self-portrait in this sketch.

"Medieval Dance with Kisses" to the music of Sergei Sergeevich Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 8 is a miniature inspired by the aesthetics of the Middle Ages, an exquisite stylization of old soirees. In this work, Yakobson does not try to play a scene from the life of the medieval nobility before the viewer, he thinks more broadly: accurately conveying the atmosphere of the era, the choreographer draws attention to the fact that behind the strict etiquette and prim manners prescribed for high society, ordinary people were hiding, close and understandable to modern public.

"Cachucha" to the music of Pablo Sarasate is a bright author's interpretation of Spanish folk dance, which fell into the cycle "Classicism - Romanticism" according to the bizarre logic of the choreographer. Kachucha performed by Fanny Elsler became a hit of the Romantic era, and Jacobson in his work is inspired not by the Andalusian dance in itself, but by an old lithograph depicting one of the brightest ballerinas of the 19th century. This is a portrait dance, an original compliment to a beautiful woman.
