ANCIENT RUSSIAN BYLINA "SADKO"

A harmonious and melodic story about the glorious hero-seafarer and skilled guslar Sadko will help you find answers to many interesting questions. What is a bylina? How is it different from a fairy tale? What obstacles must a real Russian hero overcome in order to find a beautiful princess beyond the seas in the faraway kingdom, in the thirtieth state? The action of the bylina takes place during the birth of Rus', in Veliky Novgorod - a Hanseatic city with a rich history. It is symbolic that the subscription "Musical Journey into the World of Fairy Tales" ends with a Russian bylina, reminding us all of our ancestors, roots, history, traditions, as well as the power and meaning of art. For example, a man is given a great gift - to play the gusli, but how does he use it? To gain wealth, to satisfy his own vanity, or - to the glory of God? "And Sadko built a church to the glorification of Nicholas of Mozhaisk to the Lord God!"
