Concert-excursion.

At the beginning of the 19th century, along the embankment of the Fontanka River, not far from the Anichkov Bridge, a house was built according to the design of the architect Luigi Rusca for the first guild merchant Fyodor Ilyin and his family. This building in the classical style is a contemporary of the Kazan Cathedral, the Admiralty, the Horse Guards Manege and other famous buildings of St. Petersburg.

A few decades later, in the 1880s, this house was purchased by timber merchant Pavel Kochnev in the name of his wife Olga.

In the 20th century, thanks to the efforts of their daughter Nina Kochneva, the mansion was protected from destruction, and in 1964 it was transferred to Lenconcert (now "Petersburg-concert").

The exquisite interiors of the halls and rooms, decorated by such outstanding masters as the architect David Visconti, the painter Giovanni Battista Scotti, the sculptor Ivan Terebenev, have perfectly preserved the atmosphere of the past. However, the history of the Kochnevs' house has not been fully studied and is full of secrets, and the amazing discoveries and research that are still taking place today testify to the originality of its creators and owners.

The concert-excursion includes interesting, sometimes unexpected facts and information about the creation of the mansion, as well as musical and literary works by Pushkin, Mozart, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and other authors, reflecting not only the tastes of the owners of the house, but also the characteristic features of the cultural life of St. Petersburg in the century before last.
