Respighi Concert. Britten. Dvorak. Grieg

A magnificent master of orchestral colors, Ottorino Respighi had a special gift for combining one instrument with another, creating a musical lace of exquisite weaving. The concert will feature "Old Songs and Dances for Lute" arranged for chamber orchestra. In this work, the Italian composer paid tribute to neoclassicism, carefully combining the styles of the past and present, and, as if resurrecting memories of the music of past centuries.

Benjamin Britten's "Simple Symphony" captivates with the clarity and naturalness of its musical sound - as if it cost the composer nothing to write it. It is noteworthy that Britten chose some of the themes that were included in the score that he composed at the age of 9-12. Perhaps this explains the amazing harmony inherent in the "Simple Symphony".

The melodic melody and the enthusiasm of Czech dance rhythms fill many of Antonin Dvorak's scores, including the Serenade for String Orchestra. The composition, which is part of the golden classics, does not become outdated with time, but, on the contrary, captivates with the spirituality and poetic nature of the images born in the imagination of performers and listeners of several generations.

In the suite "From the Time of Holberg", Edvard Grieg set off on a journey into the depths of the centuries. The work, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Danish and Norwegian literature Ludvig Holberg, organically united the musical ideals of the Enlightenment and the romantic trends characteristic of Grieg's work.
