We invite you to a premiere musical evening at the Kshesinskaya Mansion, presented by the "Russian Musical Seasons" team! The mansion’s lavish interiors evoke the most elegant soirées and musical salons of the early 20th century—the very gatherings that served as the inspiration for our event.

Guests will first gather at the neoclassical marble grand staircase, which leads directly into the Anteroom, where you will be treated to unlimited sparkling wine and a sweet complimentary treat. Afterward—much like the high society elite of the Silver Age—you will proceed into the mansion’s crown jewel: its Grand Hall. Here, the space will be filled with a repertoire of vocal and instrumental works by the great classical masters, and—just as in the days of the musical salons once hosted there—the entire concert will be accompanied by sparkling wine.

You will hear virtuoso performances of compositions by artists from various eras—ranging from Antonio Vivaldi to Sergei Prokofiev—all while preserving the intimate atmosphere and traditions of a private musical evening. The hall’s exceptional intimacy is a result of its compact size; consequently, seating for this event is strictly limited.

About the Mansion:

The evening will take place in the former residence of the Mariinsky Theatre’s prima ballerina—a building that stands not only as one of the most striking examples of the Northern Art Nouveau style but also as a vibrant hub for the multifaceted bohemian life of Imperial St. Petersburg during the dawn of the Silver Age. The mansion was frequented by the capital’s entire high society elite, ballet stars, actors from the Alexandrinsky Theatre, and even Grand Dukes of the Romanov dynasty. The hostess herself resided there for over a decade, until the February Revolution of 1917.

After the mansion was vacated, it was first looted, then occupied by soldiers; subsequently, it regularly hosted Bolshevik meetings, as well as gatherings between Vladimir Lenin and groups of workers, soldiers, and peasants.

Newspapers began referring to the building as the "headquarters of the Leninists." It was from the balcony of this very mansion, in April 1917, that Lenin delivered his legendary speech—the first occasion on which the slogan "All Power to the Soviets!" was proclaimed.

Nevertheless, today the historical interiors—specifically the ceremonial halls dating back to the era of Kshesinskaya—have been meticulously restored to their original splendor. To allow you to fully immerse yourself in the history of the mansion, we invite you to join a guided tour prior to the concert; this tour will illuminate the building's place and role in the cultural and political life of the last century.

The tour begins one hour prior to the start of the concert (for guests who have separately purchased a ticket for the pre-concert tour); the duration of the guided walk-through is 20 minutes.

Duration: 1 hour 20 - 40 minutes.
