Rumor has it that the Catherine Assembly once housed a gambling club. It's impossible to say for sure whether this is true or not, but how fascinating it would be to glimpse, even just a glimpse, the dramas and intrigues that unfolded here, the people who clashed at the card table, and whose adventurous shadows still hover within these regal walls, juxtaposed with the spirit of high art.

More than a century later, the creative team of "Petersburg Concert," which by the will of fate was privileged to touch the history of the legendary building, invites you to let your imagination run wild for one evening, mentally transport yourself to Petersburg at the beginning of the 20th century, and explore the dangerous and daring gamblers' club on the Catherine Canal – seasoned card sharpers and short-sighted simpletons, obsessed with the hope of luck, bluff, or a lucky duel with the theory of probability...

Oh, these tricksters! But whoever they are, they can't fool the Master of Ceremonies, who knows all about human passions, hankerings, and the eternal desire to hit fate with a well-aimed shot to the temple and win the jackpot in the most important and unpredictable game of all: life!

The motley and diverse cast of characters in the interactive musical comedy "The Game" directed by Svetlana Nikolaeva—the Officer, the Student, the Card Sharper, and his Girlfriend (an actress from the Imperial Theaters), as well as the Merchant, the Cabaret Hostess, and the Drunkard Actor—engage in a fateful duel before the eyes of the audience at a large card table, which becomes both the arena of action and the center of attraction for passions. The characters quarrel, make peace, cheat, sing, dance, and act with the selfless abandon of true artists! The audience will have to unravel this comical web of daring adventures, but let's be clear: as is the nature of the genre, it won't be easy to get caught up in, and the suspense will persist until the very end!

Svetlana Nikolaeva's original script, Tatyana Ponomareva's avant-garde set design, Anna Dolgova's signature costumes, a dance performance by soloists of the "Barynya" State Dance Ensemble choreographed by Gennady Savelyev, and (just imagine!) music and songs written especially for the production by composer and leading soloist of the "Petersburg Concert" company, Andrei Kosinsky, in collaboration with poet Olga Klimenkova—all combine to form a single, captivating "score" that will transport the audience to the heart of adventurous historical St. Petersburg and bring distant events (both true and not so true) to life in a vibrant interweaving of plots, characters, and destinies.

Leading Players The Petersburg Concert Hall—Honored Artist of Russia Gennady Spiridenkov, Anna Fomicheva, Vitalia Vasilyeva, Artem Miller, Anton Denisov, Evgeny Dyadyuk, Pavel Sopov, Mikhail Kozhevnikov, Marat Gaugau, and Timofey Parikov—are already rushing to take their seats at the card table.
