The ballet is inspired by two great works of the human spirit – Mozart's Requiem and Dante's Divine Comedy. Created almost five centuries apart, they are deeply related and arose as a result of man's encounter with the phenomenon of death. In both, one can trace the path from darkness to light, from grief, fear, and despair through prayer to absolute peace. Mozart's cathedral of sounds, from the menacing Dies Irae to the luminous Lux Aeterna, is like Dante's journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. Based on Mozart's sacred structure, the ballet consists of three movements and tells the story of the protagonist's transcendental journey, collective transformation, and the search for higher meaning and divine love, embodied in the figure of Beatrice.

Contemporary choreography is the ideal vehicle for this spiritual journey. This ballet speaks to our times. In an era of disunity and uncertainty, Dante's vision of moral order and higher meaning seems especially relevant. Mozart's music, with its perfect blend of pain and solace, creates the emotional foundation for this journey. We ask ourselves: what would Dante's journey mean to us today? How can we recognize our own dark forests, our own rivers of anger, our own chances for healing and growth? Through the immortal works of Mozart and Dante, transformed into dance, we are invited not just to observe but to join humanity's eternal search for meaning and redemption.

The finale of the Requiem features Mozart's "Lux Aeterna" – "eternal light," when all barriers crumble and the community of souls achieves perfect harmony. This is the gift of ballet: to see human life not as isolated suffering, but as a shared journey toward enlightenment.
