The colorful musical "The Wizard of the Emerald City" by Evgeny Zagot, staged by the Obraz Children's Musical Theater, will tell young audiences about the power of friendship, perseverance in achieving goals, and the fact that the greatest magic always lies within, and that goodness will always triumph.

The remarkable composer, conductor, arranger, and producer Evgeny Zagot created this vibrant children's musical in 2019, with beautiful, almost Disney-like melodies and magnificent orchestration.

Evgeny Zagot: "The Wizard of the Emerald City" is one of the bright, unique flavors of childhood that has not diminished over the years. I fully realized this when my children began to grow up, and I, together with them, once again immersed myself in the special atmosphere of this captivating yet profound story. A little later, I was offered the opportunity to write a musical on this theme, and I realized it was a chance to do something truly important with my life. Important for my children, for other children and their parents... but most importantly, for myself. Writing such a family musical is like riding in a time machine—to childhood and back. Such journeys have a powerful therapeutic effect. I tried to make the music resonate emotionally with me as a child, but at the same time, to meet the aesthetic needs of me as a composer."
