The Magic of Percussion. Prosody. Modulations

The Prosody Ensemble is a group formed at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, comprised of members interested in contemporary classical music and eager to share all the innovations of unique percussion music. The growing interest of contemporary composers in percussion music inspired the creation of the ensemble with the telling name "Prosody."

The artists of the Prosody Ensemble actively participate in the "The Magic of Percussion" project, which operates within the walls of the Catherine Assembly. The concert repertoire includes music by such world-renowned composers as John Cage, George Apergis, Christos Hatzis, David Lang, and others. They also present works by Russian composers such as Nastasya Khrushcheva, Alexander Radvilovich, Artur Zobnin, and Anna Kuzmina at various venues in St. Petersburg.

Members of the Prosodiya ensemble are invited to perform pieces at various composer competitions, including the Gala Concert of the International Composers' Competition "Bright Road," and the premieres of Artem Petaykin's "Marimba Concerto" and Anna Kuzmina's "Journey with the Northern Wind."

The ensemble's diversity in percussion classical music allows it to draw full houses of interested listeners. Prosodiya incorporates theatrical elements into its concerts, performing music by composers who pioneered this genre.
