Kannon Dance. Heartlessness

Kannon Dance Company. Ballet performance "Heartlessness"

The performance is inspired by the works of philosopher Hannah Arendt. What is truth? What is deception? Why is a lie often more attractive than reality? The choreographer poses these questions to herself and the audience.

"Facts and events are infinitely more fragile than axioms, and it is precisely this fragility that makes deception so easy and so seductive <…>. A lie is often much more plausible and attractive than reality because the liar has the enormous advantage of knowing in advance what the audience wants or expects to hear. He has prepared his story for public consumption, taking pains to make it believable, whereas reality has a disconcerting habit of confronting us with surprises for which we are never prepared..." (Hannah Arendt, "The Fragility of Facts").
