A fantastical ballet based on the fairy tale by E. T. A. Hoffmann.

Music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Libretto: Marius Petipa

Choreography: Vasily Vainonen

Animated projections will decorate the walls of the Hermitage Theatre and complement the classical sets and costumes. Tchaikovsky's fantastic music and the skills of the ballet dancers, with the help of modern technology, will immerse you in the Christmas story and make you believe in miracles.

We invite you to be transported to a winter fairytale and enjoy the story of Masha and the Nutcracker with the whole family in the exquisite interiors of the Imperial Theatre. At the Stahlbaums' home, guests gather for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Drosselmeyer prepared wonderful Christmas gifts for the children – wind-up dolls, and for his goddaughter Marie, he crafted a strange nutcracker doll – the Nutcracker. That night, in Marie's dream, the Nutcracker comes to life. The revived Nutcracker will have to battle the Mouse King, embark on a fairytale journey with her, and be transformed into a handsome prince, with whom Marie will twirl in a bewitching dance.
