The Sleeping Beauty ballet is filled with elements of a classic fairy tale: romance, poetry, the struggle between good and evil, and, of course, love. The Sleeping Beauty is one of the best ballets in the repertoire of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The story of a beautiful sleeping princess and a brave prince who was able to wake her up with a kiss.

The king's palace is celebrating the birth of his daughter, Princess Aurora. Master of Ceremonies Catalabutte is checking the guest lists. Among the courtiers and guests who have come to congratulate the guests, the Lilac Fairy and the fairies of Tenderness, Playfulness, Generosity, Canary and Courage appear. They bring gifts to the newborn, endowing Aurora with the most beautiful human qualities. There is a noise - and the evil and powerful Fairy Carabosse rides into the hall with her disgusting retinue. They forgot to invite her to the ceremony. In a rage, Carabosse predicts that young Aurora will die from a prick with a knitting needle. But the Lilac Fairy stops the terrible spell. She predicts that the forces of good will destroy the evil spell. With an imperious gesture, she forces Carabosse to leave the palace.

Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes, including one intermission.

Age limit: 6+.

The performance is accompanied by a soundtrack.

Summary

Act I

Aurora is sixteen years old. Four foreign princes are asking for her hand in marriage. In the midst of the merriment, an old woman with a spindle appears near her. Aurora trustingly takes it and continues to dance. Suddenly her dance is interrupted, she looks in horror at her hand, which she accidentally pricked with the spindle. A deadly cold grips Aurora, and she falls. The unfamiliar old woman throws off her cloak - it's the Fairy Carabosse! Her spell has come true. Spinning ominously, she disappears laughing. But the Lilac Fairy appears - it is in her power to weaken the evil. Aurora is not dead - she has fallen asleep. A hot kiss from a handsome prince will bring her back to life. The Lilac Fairy plunges the entire kingdom into sleep.

Act II

Prince Desire, surrounded by nobles, indulges in amusements in the royal park. Melancholy overcomes him. And as if responding to the call of an unknown dream, the Lilac Fairy appears before him. She summons a vision of Aurora, surrounded by divine beings - Nereids. The enchanted prince rushes after the beautiful image, but at the wave of the fairy, the visions disappear. Desiree passionately begs to find the beauty. And the Lilac Fairy invites the prince to sail to the enchanted castle on a magic boat. In the sleeping kingdom there is darkness and desolation. It is guarded by the evil Fairy Carabosse. The Lilac Fairy and Prince Desire are rapidly approaching. The villainess and her retinue try to hide Aurora from them, but in vain - the prince saw the sleeping beauty. Conquered and enchanted, he tenderly kisses her - and the evil spell is broken! Carabosse and her retinue disappear. Aurora awakens, and with her the kingdom comes to life. The princess sees her savior, and love is born in her heart. Desiree asks the King and Queen for their daughter's hand.

Epilogue

The heroes of fairy tales came to Aurora and Desiree's wedding: Princess Florina and the Blue Bird, the White Cat and Puss in Boots, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. The prince and princess appear in a harmonious and solemn duet. The Lilac Fairy and her retinue bless the bride and groom.
