Act I
Aurora is sixteen years old. Four foreign princes are asking for her hand in marriage. In the midst of the merriment, an old woman with a spindle appears near her. Aurora trustingly takes it and continues to dance. Suddenly her dance is interrupted, she looks in horror at her hand, which she accidentally pricked with the spindle. A deadly cold grips Aurora, and she falls. The unfamiliar old woman throws off her cloak - it's the Fairy Carabosse! Her spell has come true. Spinning ominously, she disappears laughing. But the Lilac Fairy appears - it is in her power to weaken the evil. Aurora is not dead - she has fallen asleep. A hot kiss from a handsome prince will bring her back to life. The Lilac Fairy plunges the entire kingdom into sleep. Act II Prince Desire, surrounded by nobles, indulges in amusements in the royal park. Melancholy overcomes him. And as if responding to the call of an unknown dream, the Lilac Fairy appears before him. She summons a vision of Aurora, surrounded by divine beings - Nereids. The enchanted prince rushes after the beautiful image, but at the wave of the fairy, the visions disappear. Desiree passionately begs to find the beauty. And the Lilac Fairy invites the prince to sail to the enchanted castle on a magic boat. In the sleeping kingdom there is darkness and desolation. It is guarded by the evil Fairy Carabosse. The Lilac Fairy and Prince Desire are rapidly approaching. The villainess and her retinue try to hide Aurora from them, but in vain - the prince saw the sleeping beauty. Conquered and enchanted, he tenderly kisses her - and the evil spell is broken! Carabosse and her retinue disappear. Aurora awakens, and with her the kingdom comes to life. The princess sees her savior, and love is born in her heart. Desiree asks the King and Queen for their daughter's hand. Epilogue The heroes of fairy tales came to Aurora and Desiree's wedding: Princess Florina and the Blue Bird, the White Cat and Puss in Boots, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. The prince and princess appear in a harmonious and solemn duet. The Lilac Fairy and her retinue bless the bride and groom.
